Shoko Barcelona: Dress Code for Men and Women

Shoko is one of Barcelona’s top beachfront clubs – mainly hip-hop, R&B, and commercial music, right next to Opium on the Olympic Port. The location is casual, but the dress code is not. The door policy is strict, especially on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Here is exactly what to wear and what to avoid to get into Shoko.

General rules

Monday to Wednesday and Sundays: More relaxed. Smart casual is enough.

Thursday to Saturday: Stricter. Dress up – the bouncers are selective, especially with men.

Even if you are on the guest list, you can be turned away for not following the dress code.

Men’s dress code at Shoko

The door is stricter for men. Most rejections happen because of shoes or overly casual outfits.
What works:

  • Plain button-up shirts or well-fitting polos (neutral or dark colors)
  • Long trousers – dark, clean, well-fitted. No rips or distressing.
  • Clean leather shoes, smart boots, or clean leather sneakers
  • Blazer optional but a plus on weekends

What will get you turned away:

  • Flip-flops, sandals, or dirty/scuffed sneakers
  • Shorts or cargo pants
  • Ripped jeans or baggy jeans
  • Sportswear, athletic wear, jerseys
  • Tank tops or sleeveless shirts
  • Hoodies or sweatpants
  • Caps or baseball hats

Shoes matter. The bouncers check them. Make sure they are clean and in good condition.

Women’s dress code at Shoko

Women have more flexibility, but Shoko still expects a polished look – not beachwear.
What works:

  • Dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, or coordinated sets
  • Elegant tops with fitted pants or a blazer
  • Heels, boots, stylish flats, or clean fashion sneakers

What will get you turned away:

  • Flip-flops or running shoes
  • Sportswear or overly casual outfits (hoodies, sweatpants)
  • Ripped denim shorts
  • Beachwear or bikini cover-ups

What happens if you do not follow the dress code?

You will be denied entry – even if your name is on the guest list. The guest list gives you free entry or a discount. It does not override the door policy.

If you are unsure, be slightly overdressed rather than underdressed.

Free entry with the Barceloning guest list

You can enter Shoko for free from Monday to Thursday and on Sundays, and get a discounted ticket on Fridays and Saturdays. Sign up to the Barceloning guest list:
