Best Clubs in Barcelona: Guest Lists, Music, and Dress Code – Part 1

Looking for the best clubs in Barcelona? The city has over a dozen venues open any given night.

This guide covers every major one organized by what matters when you choose: music, dress code, age, and price. No hype. Just the facts so you pick the right one.

Each club gets a mini-profile with address, music, age, dress code, guest list rules, and vibe.

Negro Rojo

Negro Rojo is a great place if you love house, afro-house and melodic techno but you prefer a classier crowd than a typical techno club.

It is a Japanese restaurant during the day and a club at night.

Negro Rojo is one of Barceloning’s top recommended and favorite places to have a great time away from the highly touristy places.

Music

The music at Negro Rojo is house and melodic techno.

Dress code

The dress code policy of Negro Rojo is moderate. Smart casual works, no need to overthink it. Not too casual and not too elegant.

Minimum age

The minimum age is 21 on Thursdays and 23 on Saturdays.

Guest list

There is a guest list on Thursdays and Saturdays at Negro Rojo.

The Thursday guest list lets you enter for free until 00:30 (12:30am) and a discount on the entry ticket until 01:00 (12€ and includes a drink). Click here to sign up to the Negro Rojo Thursday guest list.

There is no free entry on Saturdays but you get a discount on the entry fee:

  • 12€ with 1 drink until 00:30
  • 15€ with 1 drink until 01:00

💡 Remember: Being on the guest list does not guarantee entry. You still need to follow the dress code, arrive on time and respect the venue’s rules.

Location

Negro Rojo is located at Av. Diagonal, 640 in Les Corts right next to Av. Diagonal across from L’illa Diagonal.

G Spot (Cohete)

G Spot is Negro Rojo’s sister venue in Av Diagonal. The capacity of the venue is “only” 200 people, which makes you feel more like you are enjoying in a house party.

Music

The music at Cohete GSpot is more underground, more techno-focused and melodic (not hard techno like Input).

Minimum age

The minimum age at Cohete GSpot is 23.

Dress code

The dress code policy of GSpot is moderate, similar to Negro Rojo’s. Smart casual works. Not too casual and not too elegant.

Guest list

There is only one guest list at G Spot: Thursdays until 00:00 (midnight). There is no free guest list on Fridays and Saturdays.

Make sure you arrive at least 20 minutes before midnight.

Location

Cohete G Spot is located at Avenida Diagonal 593 near L’illa Diagonal.

La Fira Villarroel

La Fira Villarroel is a classic nightclub famous for latin music, hits and reggaeton. They have two floors and affordable VIPs.

They are also famous for their thematic parties that happen every now and then (Like Colombian or Mexican parties).

Music

The music at La Fira Villarroel is exclusively latin: reggaeton, bachata, salsa, merengue, etc. If you love Central and South American music, this is the right place for you.

Dress code

La Fira Villarroel has one of the most relaxed dress codes in Barcelona : sneakers and casual-wear are fine. Just be ready to dance.

Make sure you avoid beachwear and flip flops.

Minimum age

The minimum age at La Fira Villarroel is 18.

There is a free guest list on Fridays and Saturdays (which isn’t very common for clubs in Barcelona):

La Fira Villarroel is located on C. Villarroe, 206 in the Eixample district near Pl. de Francesc Macià.

Jamboree Dance Club

Jamboree Dance Club (not the Jazz Club) is the ideal place for hiphop and RnB music lovers right next to La Rambla in Plaça Reial.

Music

The music at Jamboree Dance Club is primarily hiphop and RnB with some international hits.

Minimum age

The minimum age is 18.

Dress code

The dress code at Jamboree Dance Club is casual and stylish. Not too formal and not too casual.

Avoid beachware and flip-flops.

Guest list

The Barceloning guest list is from Sundays to Thursdays. There is no free entry on Fridays and Saturdays.

Location

Jamboree Dance Club is located in Plaça Reial right next to Las Ramblas near the Port. Metro L3 Drassanes is the closet metro station to it. 

Sutton Barcelona

Sutton is famous for its well-dressed crowd on Fridays and Saturdays, its VIP tables and its music.

Dress code

Sutton has one of the strictest dress codes in Barcelona on the weekend. Shirt mandatory for guys, nice shoes recommended, no shorts. Follow the Sutton’s rules or you will not get in.

The dress code on Wednesdays is less strict.

💡 Remember: Being on the guest list does not guarantee entry. You still need to follow the dress code, arrive on time and respect the venue’s rules.

Minimum age

The minimum age at Sutton varies by night:

  • Wednesdays: 18+
  • Thursdays: 21+
  • Fridays and Saturdays: 23+

Music

The music at Sutton is commercial and international hits.

Location

Sutton is in the famous Carrer Tuset street known for its bars and very active lifestyle.

Opium Barcelona

Opium Barcelona is one of the most known clubs in Barcelona. Located in Barceloneta, it is very popular among tourists and international students. If you want a massive club with commercial music, right by the sea, consider Opium.

Opium can get very crowded during the summer. If you want to avoid long lines, check out Sutton (information above).

Dress code

The dress code at Opium is moderate: smart casual.

Even though the club is by the beach, avoid flip-flops, swimsuit, or any type of beachware.
