Best Nightclubs Near the Beach in Barcelona

Summary
The main beach clubs in Barcelona are clustered around the Port Olímpic and the Barceloneta promenade. Opium, Shôko, and Ku Barcelona (previously called Pacha) all offer free entry through a guest list on most weeknights – you sign up, arrive before the cutoff, and walk in without paying.
Carpe Diem, Agua Barcelona, Go Beach Club, and the W Hotel are also close to the beach. None of them offer free entry through Barceloning, so you pay at the door or book a table in advance.
Sign up for the right guest list before you go out — it makes a real difference on the night.
Barceloning partners directly with three beachfront clubs: Opium, Shôko, and Ku Barcelona. Signing up takes under a minute. Being on the guest list does not guarantee entry — dress code, timing, and venue rules still apply.
Opium Barcelona
Opium is the largest club on the Barcelona seafront, sitting right on the promenade in the Vila Olímpica neighbourhood. It plays commercial and international music and pulls a mixed crowd of tourists and locals.
Free entry is available on most nights through the guest list. On Fridays and Saturdays, the guest list gives a discounted entry instead of free access. Arrive before the cutoff or you pay full price at the door.
- Music: commercial, remixed hits, international
- Dress code: smart casual — no sportswear, no shorts, no flip-flops
- Minimum age: 18+
- Free entry: Monday to Thursday and Sunday before cutoff
- Friday and Saturday: discounted ticket through the guest list

Shôko Barcelona
Shôko is next to Opium, with a terrace directly on the beach. It is open every night of the week and is consistently one of the busiest venues for international visitors during summer.
Free entry through the guest list runs Monday to Thursday and on Sundays until 1:00 AM. On Fridays and Saturdays, the guest list gives a discounted ticket at 15€ including one drink. Arrive 15–20 minutes before the cutoff on weekdays and at least 30 minutes early on weekends.
- Music: international, commercial, mixed
- Dress code: smart casual — same rules as Opium
- Minimum age: 18+

Ku Barcelona
Ku Barcelona (formerly Pacha) is a large venue near the Port Olímpic known for international bookings and a polished, mixed crowd. Free entry is available on certain nights through the Barceloning guest list.
The dress code is stricter than at Opium or Shôko. Ku draws an older, more style-conscious crowd. Groups of men without women can expect a harder door.
- Music: international, commercial, some EDM nights
- Dress code: strict smart attire required
- Minimum age: 18+
- Free entry: available on select nights — check the guest list page for the current schedule

W Hotel Barcelona
The W Hotel is a landmark at the end of Barceloneta beach, right at the water’s edge. The Eclipse bar on the 26th floor is one of the most recognisable nightlife venues in the city, especially in summer.
Free entry is available every night of the week through the Barceloning guest list. The dress code is stricter than at Opium or Shôko, and the crowd skews upscale.
- Music: commercial and international, varies by event
- Dress code: strict smart attire required
- Guest list: available through Barceloning

Carpe Diem Barcelona
Carpe Diem (CDLC) is a beachfront restaurant and lounge club on the Passeig Marítim. It runs as a restaurant by day and shifts to club mode at night, with DJs, bottle service, and a dressed-up crowd.
There is no free entry. Expect a door policy and, on busy nights, a wait even with a table reservation.
Agua Barcelona
Agua is a seafront restaurant-bar in Barceloneta with a late-night atmosphere on weekends. It functions more as a bar than a full nightclub. No free entry through Barceloning.
Go Beach Club Barcelona
Go Beach Club is a beach venue near Barceloneta that operates as a beach bar during the day and a nightlife spot into the evening. No free entry through Barceloning.
Dress code at beach clubs
Dressing for a beach club is not the same as dressing for the beach. Shorts, flip-flops, and sportswear are turned away at every beachfront club in Barcelona — including Opium and Shôko.
The standard is smart casual at minimum: collared shirts or fitted tops for men, dresses or elegant outfits for women. The closer to Friday and Saturday, the stricter the door. Read the full guides before you go:
