Input Barcelona: Dress Code for Men and Women

Input is Barcelona’s main techno club and one of the most relaxed doors in the city. No collared shirt. No smart shoes. Clean casual is the standard, and it genuinely is enough. Here is what to wear and what still gets you turned away.
Input Barcelona dress code for men
Input’s door is relaxed.
The crowd is international, music-focused, and not particularly fashion-forward. Looking clean and not sloppy is what matters.
What works:
- Plain t-shirt or casual top
- Clean jeans, dark trousers, or casual bottoms
- Sneakers even casual ones
- Most clean, everyday looks
What will get you turned away:
- Gym clothes or athletic wear
- Flip-flops or beach sandals
- Beachwear
- Visibly dirty or ripped clothing
Input is not a formal-dress-code venue but the same basic rules apply as everywhere else in Barcelona. Gym clothes and beachwear get rejected even at the most relaxed doors.
Input Barcelona dress code for women
Even more flexible. Casual party wear, everyday outfits, comfortable club clothes: all work without issue.
What works:
- Casual dresses, jeans and a top, comfortable sets
- Sneakers, boots, flats: all accepted
What will get you turned away:
Gym clothes
Beachwear
Flip-flops
Can you wear sneakers to Input?
Yes – and this is one of the few Barcelona clubs where even casual sneakers are the norm. Trainers, most casual shoes, and clean sportswear-adjacent footwear all tend to work. Visibly dirty or broken-down shoes are still best avoided.
If you are used to stricter techno doors in Berlin or Amsterdam, Input is considerably more permissive on dress.
Input is different from most Barcelona clubs
Most Barcelona nightclubs run on commercial music, reggaeton, and a smart-casual crowd. Input is the exception. It is a dedicated techno venue in Montjuïc (Av. de Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia, 13), the crowd is very international, and the draw is the DJ lineup.
Always check the DJ before you go. Big international bookings can change the crowd and occasionally the entry conditions.
Age limit
Input is 18+. Bring valid photo ID.
Entry and Barceloning discount
Input does not operate a traditional free guest list. Through Barceloning, you can get a discounted ticket purchased online – any time, no cutoff.
Without the discount: 15-20€ with a drink.
This is different from how guest lists work at Opium, Shoko, or La Fira – where you show up and your name is on a list. At Input, the discount requires a pre-purchase. Do not show up expecting free entry at the door.
What happens if you do not follow the dress code?
Even at the most relaxed Barcelona doors, gym clothes, beachwear, and flip-flops get you turned away. The bouncer makes a final call – there is no negotiation.
Rejections at Input are less common than at upscale clubs, but they happen for the same basic reasons everywhere.
